他们都把这个晚餐当作约会，赴会前，他悉心选择领带，烫衬衫，选浪漫的餐厅，她敷面膜，修指甲，拿出最好看的裙子。

见了面，才知道原来他们都没有穿华美的衣服，他们最后都选择了便服，他穿懒佬鞋，她穿三分裤，在合适的人面前，可以以最舒适的形态出现。

而他也没有带她去预定的日本餐厅，他带她去了大排挡，场地简陋，但是食物美味。

隔壁桌子有纹身的几个男人在喝酒猜拳，邻座有两夫妻在吵架，婴儿在哭泣，但她都觉得很有趣，一只苍蝇在他们身边飞来飞去。。。

叮一声。。。苍蝇变成了美丽的蜻蜓，身边的杂乱景物，变成了青色的草地，粉红色的餐桌布，温暖的阳光，耳边响起了民歌，他们很快乐地享受他们的晚餐。。

直到有人吓呼“喂！收档了！”他们才发现，大排挡的人都走光了，更惊讶的是，他们其实什么都没有吃，只是叫了两杯水。而且一点都不饿。

呵，这是社长和殷赏的约会，后来社长和另外一个女孩子也去那儿晚餐，但是，大排挡没有变成青草地，他发现，和什么人一起，才是关键。

殷赏说，她自己也不知道自己和社长已经展开了一些什么的什么。。一段感情最暧昧最梦幻的过程，也是最没有杂质的时刻，享受开心了，连自己也不知道。

《巨流河》最后一段，齐邦媛说：

我到大连去是要由故乡的海岸，看流往台湾的大海。连续两天，我一个人去海边公园的石阶上坐着，望着渤海流入黄海，再流进东海，融入浩瀚的太平洋，两千多公里航行到台湾。绕过全岛到南端的鹅銮鼻，灯塔下面数里即是哑口海，海湾甚蓝，静美，据说风浪到此音灭声消。

一切归于永恒的平静。”

整两寸厚的一本书，句句扎实，字字地读，当她说到，一切归于永恒的平静，才发觉书已经完了，但意未尽。什么时候再能有这样的好书出现。
